‘I wanted to tell you’ is a text-scroll artwork that explores how we communicate with our ancestors at significant times of the year. Small extracts of letters and conversations are blended to create a series of long scrolls which rise up from a 1970s-era Adana printing press. (The Adana was the press-of-choice for hobbyist printing at home.) The scrolls were letterpress-printed from wood type whilst the colour elements were applied directly by hand.
