Codes (For William)
2015
edition of 10
Stock: Fabriano Rosapina

A piece created in tribute to the post-war artist and sculptor William Mitchell. The codes are location markers for his public artworks, such as the Minut men at Salford University, the Three Tuns pub in Coventry and the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool. These are divided up by quotes from Mitchell talking about his work: "I got lots of letters saying I would die at a very young age... my lungs would be filled with dust". Mitchell is still alive and giving lectures about his work at the age of 91.

Concrete-skimmed frame by Callum Higgins at Manchester Custom Framing.
